Picking up the chainsaw prevents the use of fists in any Doom game. This shouldn't happen. In Vanilla Doom, you still have the ability to use your fists even after picking up the chainsaw.

I just checked with both Doom 1 and 2, v1.9

It probably then should be a feature request.. as most modern ports support being able to use the fists and the chainsaw (it doesn't really detract from gameplay)
